This silk crepe gown from the heady hey days of the thirties is a beauty. It has a really lovely beaded halter detail whose placement is unusual and very chic and modern feeling while feeling very ancient Grecian goddess at the same time. The straps run over the shoulders and meet at the center of the top bust line and then continue as a single panel down to the high waist. This strap is encrusted with clear iridescent aurora borealis beads. The bust is gathered up and in behind that center strap and then the skirt cascades to the floor in a column of silk. It is not perfect but present well and is still very beautiful
Fully lined in a cream silk satin and closes with a back metal zipper. In overall great shape with a few beads missing from the straps on one shoulder but no overwhelming bare area. It's only true flaw is that at some point someone has taken down the hem to get more length and it has it original ribbon finish serving as its hem line now. There is a faint mark running around the hem where the original seam was. I have chosen to leave it as is so if you need to hem it you can do it exactly where you need it. Priced with this in mind.
